Virgie Aguilar
Virgie began her journey with preschoolers at a small private preschool working with two year olds. After moving away for a short time, an opportunity came when Buena Ventura KinderCare was being built. Virgie is the only original teacher that helped open this center in January of 2003. She began working with the Prekindergarten class and moved on to working with infants and toddlers for about two years. An opportunity became open for the Prekindergarten classroom again and Virgie worked with the group she had grown so fond of. When management needed a Kindergarten teacher, Virgie quickly stepped in and taught the Private Kindergarten class and worked with the School Age children during the summer. This was Virgie's favorite age to work with and when the opportunity to work in management as an Assistant Director came up, Virgie took the position. Virgie was in the position for a year and the position of Center Director opened up and Virgie stepped in and has found her home.

Shawn Smith
Shawn Smith has always been passionate about working with and helping children since she was a young teenager. She loves what she does each day and enjoys the rewards of hugs and smiles. Shawn began working at the Buena Ventura KinderCare in December of 2008 as an Assistant Director after working at a privately owned preschool for 11 years. She took a brief break from the role in management for almost two years and began working in a classroom with the Preschoolers. Shawn also worked in the after school program for a summer and she taught the Cooking Adventures class as well. When another opportunity to be in management came open, she decided that she wanted to be able to take on the role of Assistant Director. Shawn is actively involved in each classroom and helps out where need be. She is also one of the bus drivers for the after school program.

Ms. Liz P.
Ms. Liz has worked with children since 2005 where she worked at a local Ventura County after school program that she also did summer camp at. After that she went to work with younger children at a preschool in Oxnard for about three years. In May of 2013 she joined the Ventura KinderCare family and she has primarily been a teacher in our Discovery Preschool classroom working with our two year olds. She is currently a mentor teacher helping train our new teaching staff as well as a part of our management team where one day she can be an Assistant Director. She is our school's Service Values Champion helping guide the teachers and staff in good customer service skills.

Ms. Cheryl
Cheryl has worked for KinderCare for over 25 years primarily with the infants and some time with the toddlers. Cheryl enjoys providing the children with various sensory experiences. One of her favorite activities to do with the infants is painting because she loves to see their faces as they explore with the colors and paint on their hands. She also loves watching the infants learn to be social with one another.<br />

Ms. Sonia
Sonia has worked with the Discovery Preschool (Two year olds) since starting with KinderCare. She enjoys working with this group because even though they are young, they love to learn. She enjoys being able to read their favorite books each day and she also enjoys seeing each child get excited when they try something new in the classroom. Sonia is very creative and loves when she and the children in her classroom can be creative together!<br /> Sonia considers KinderCare and the families part of her family and she feels that this is her second home. In order to enhance her work enviroment and to better serve the children and families, she continues her education through college classes.
